The best of art and crafts September 11 & 12 at the Summer Solstice Craft Show that is an annual tradition in Wells: the September Summer Solstice Craft Show. Now in its 33rd year, is a popular two-day event that will be held from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Wells Jr. High School on Route 1 (1470 Post Road), Wells. This juried craft show features 80 + crafters and artists who display and demonstrate their handmade wares inside and outside the Jr. High. Traditional, contemporary and country crafts are featured. You’ll see stained glass, jewelry of all types, pottery, soaps, candles, wood crafts, fiber arts, graphics, photography, handcrafted specialty foods and much more. Sharon White, Methuen, Massachutes: Sharon is an amazing wood burning artist. Her floral cribbage boards and treadle sewing machine tables are a must see. Brigitte Delaplace, Kennebunk, Maine: Brigitte demonstrates her love for vintage with the jewelry she creates. Earrings, pins and pendants feature a vintage piece as the focal point. Judith Hodges, South Portland, Maine: Watercolour Artist. Betty Snowman, Auburn, Maine: Ladies appliquéd sweatshirt, tee-shirts, sweaters & jackets are her specialty. The craft show also includes music by musician Carolyn Currie. Her CDs will be available for sale at the show. Carolyn has a strong following and has received many accolades as a performer. The craft show is held rain or shine. Parking and Admission are FREE
