Description

If the Broom Fits: a history of witchcraft in New England
Tuesday, October 26th at 6:30 pm

We are welcoming Ehris Urban and Velya Jancz-Urban back to Wells to present a hybrid program to learn about the history of Witchcraft in New England.
Have you ever wondered, especially on Halloween, why witches are depicted as riding on brooms through the nighttime sky? (It's a story you may find difficult explaining to the kids!) You're never going to look at sweeping the same way again...
How did the benevolent image of a wise woman transform into the malevolent figure of the witch we know today?

For more information, please contact Stefanie Claydon at sclaydon@wellstown.org or by calling the library at 207-646-8181.
